One hundred years later we celebrate this momentous occasion. The celebration begins at 11 am with a naturalization and delayed enlistment ceremony on the steps of the Memorial. At 7 pm, a special ceremony will feature former employees, early park visitors, and dignitaries from the National Park Service and Canada. The ceremony will be followed by a patriotic concert by local favorite Westside Steve Simmons and the traditional 4th of July fireworks. +VM Put-in-Bay Independence Day Celebration 419.285.2832, visitputinbay.com A fireworks program on July 4 at dark is presented by the Put-in-Bay Business Owners and Friends of the Bay. Shot off a barge in the downtown harbor, the aerial display is best viewed anywhere along the downtown waterfront and from Perry's Memorial grounds. This year Camp Perry will host the 2015 NRA World Championship in August. A War of 1812 military encampment will be held all weekend, and 1,200 boy scouts camp on the memorial's east lawn for their annual camporee.
