Random Lake Area Chamber of Commerce • (920) 994-9054 29 Ron Naab, chair of the American Trib- ute Ride, recently announced that he has received confirmation the "Singing Po- liceman", Daniel Rodriguez will be partici- pating in the 2014 American Tribute Ride. Daniel has been a performer most of his life. His appearances at funerals fol- lowing 9-11-2001 made him known in every household. As per his website—"It was in uniform that local New York audi- ences began to discover his voice and his passion for the music he sang. Before the events of 9/11, he was already quite well known around New York City as he had sung in "Broadway on Broadway," in local opera and musical theater productions. As an official singer for the NYPD Cere- monial Unit, he sang at many functions, and later, at memorials in the aftermath of the September 11th attacks. Wherever he goes, Daniel is asked about that fateful morning and how it changed his life. He was driving over the Verrazano Bridge to begin his shift with the NYPD when the first plane hit the World Trade Center. He was on the ground near the buildings when they collapsed, nearly losing his own life. From this journey, Daniel has begun Find 9/12.com... the quest to rediscover the unity we experienced in the wake of the 9/11 attacks. "For a brief period our differences dis- solved. We came together. We treated each other with compassion and gen- erosity. We were all connected. We were one. And then, suddenly... it was gone!" ''Music and spirituality were indepen- dent of each other in my life, but after 9/11, it became clear that it was the source of healing and that became the focus of my life." Danny will open the ride with sing- ing the National Anthem at Suburban Motors Harley-Davidson in Thiens- ville. He will end the day at the Ran- dom Lake Firefighters Festival with a short concert. He will also do a short tribute on Sunday, July 27 at 2:00 pm. The 2014 American Tribute Ride is scheduled for July 26th, starting in Thiensville and ending in Random Lake after traveling through the Northern Kettle Moraine.
