LOCAL Achievements Volunteer of the Year I NOT LONG AFTER Clifford Horn retired 10 years ago he walked into a building on Pine Street in Foley looking for a tax form. The man who gave him the form struck up a conversation and upon hearing Horn's story said, "You're too young to be retired. You need something to do." After completing a career as a civil engineer working for the Department of Defense, Horn found he agreed. "I got into the SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) program," he said. "That grew into my N volunteering for all sorts of other things." The two men have volunteered on projects together through the years and remain friends today. Horn said he enjoys his volunteer efforts and is happy to be involved and giving back. "I realized a long time ago that if you're doing well you should give back," he said. "After retiring I started donating time instead of money. It's actually been pretty exciting. This Chamber is great!" L I realized a long time ago that if you're doing well you should give back. After retiring I started donating time instead of money. ~CLIFFORD HORN 14 Discover South Baldwin 2014
