CHAMBER FOUNDATION Programs JUNIOR AMBASSADORS – Youth Leadership Program The Junior Ambassadors youth leadership program helps high school juniors recognize their own leadership abilities through economic development, government awareness and community service activities. Since completed the program. Junior Ambassadors training focuses on business and communication environment, volunteerism and local government. Students also broaden their understanding of state government, traveling to Montgomery each spring to tour the capitol, meet with lawmakers and watch government in action. Junior Ambassadors connect with transition of changing schools for new students. Link Crew programs have proven to increase attendance and encourage student success. teachers. Grant requests are submitted jointly by faculty and students, and grants are awarded following a thorough process of review and YEA! – Young Entrepreneurs Academy The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) is a groundbreaking program that takes students through the process of starting and running real businesses over the course of an academic year. YEA! was in 2012 with the support and involvement of local businesses and professionals serving as sponsors, mentors, guest speakers, vendors and investors. YEA! students are taught to recognize the power of their ideas, and to turn those ideas into meaningful enterprises. At the end of the program, they own and operate fully formed and functioning businesses. BBQ & BLUES COOK-OFF – 6th Annual—Saturday, March 15th The annual BBQ & Blues Cook-Off is a festive food and music event held in Downtown Foley's Heritage Park the third Saturday of – Camp Lion Pride & The Mane STUDENT & TEACHER GRANTS Event Student Orientations – Meeting Needs, Rewarding Ideas the Alabama Barbecue Association, the barbecue cook-off attracts both corporate and individual teams competing for bragging rights in several award categories. Festival goers enjoy great food, blues music, children's activities and silent auction bidding. Proceeds support the Chamber Foundation. Thanks to the generosity of event sponsors and volunteers, the impact on our community and schools increases each year. L Camp Lion Pride is the orientation for Foley High School's incoming freshmen. Ninth graders learn their way around campus, meet their new classmates, and partner with trained mentors from junior and senior classes.
