&figures facts DESCRIPTION The Fox Cities are 19 communities located along the Fox River and Lake Winnebago in East Central Wisconsin. The communities are: Appleton, Clayton, Combined Locks, Buchanan, Freedom, Grand Chute, Greenville, Harrison, Hortonville, Kaukauna, Kimberly, Little Chute, Menasha, Neenah, Sherwood, Town of Menasha, Town of Neenah, Vandenbroek and Woodville. The Fox Cities are located in East Central Wisconsin along U.S. Highways 41 and 10. We���re 3 hours north of Chicago, 1.5 hours north of Milwaukee and 4.5 hours east of Minneapolis. Green Bay is 30 minutes north. To help you navigate the 19 communities that make up the Fox Cities, we���ve divided the area into four wayfinding areas. Look for our wayfinding system signs throughout the Fox Cities. As you use this Destination Guide, look for the icons noted below to identify the area in which a business is located. Appleton Area includes the entire city of Appleton. Our main convention hotel and downtown dining and entertainment districts are in this area. Located in this area are the Fox River Mall, Fox Cities Stadium and the Outagamie County Regional Airport (ATW). FOX WEST POPULATION City of Appleton: 72,623 Metro Area: 250,000 APPLETON Heart of the Valley Area includes the communities of Buchanan, Combined Locks, Freedom, Kaukauna, Kimberly and Little Chute, as well as the area known as ���Darboy.��� Located in this area are several riverfront parks, Thousand Islands Environmental Center and many local retailers.
